The route for August. Follow us!

Last month we recommended a route for the northern part of the island to discover the more peaceful areas on the island and now, despite the August din in Ibiza, we will suggest a less intimate route to experience the more lively side of the island. Because we don’t always feel like going to a lonely cove, do we? Follow us and enjoy an action-packed day! J

breakfast

After a restful night at Hostal La Torre, enjoy a delicious, healthy and energy-boosting breakfast. For a day like today, we recommend our Poached eggs with avocado and smoked salmon on artisan bread. Yummy....

off to the south

Get into your rental car and take the main road towards the airport and then turn off towards Playa de Ses Salines, one of the most famous and popular beaches in Ibiza. Don’t be surprised if you spot one or two celebrities on the sand, because it’s one of the favourite hidey-holes of actors, football players and singers. If you’d like to go for a walk, we suggest you follow the track along the coast to Torre de Ses Portes.

Lunchtime

The route takes us down to Cala des Jondal, a long –and also famous– pebbled cove where you can relish delicious paellas served at Tropicana. After lunch, take a nap on one of their deckchairs, cool down with a swim and get back into the car towards Sant Antoni. If you’re craving coffee, we suggest a stop at Sant Josep de sa Talaia to sit at a table in the shade on the Bar Bernat Vinya terrace, overlooking the village church.

in the afternoon

In August, sunset is about 9 p.m., so if you have time before heading back, you may want to have a go at the water sports in Sant Antoni bay. Then head back to Hostal La Torre and change into your evening clothes to enjoy the best sunset on the Mediterranean: the one seen from Café Mambo.

dinner

It’s best to book a table in advance (you can do it on the website or at the hotel reception desk) and don’t stop at a beer, have dinner at Café Mambo to join the lively pre-parties after the sun has set. Would you like any suggestions for dinner? We love the Mambo hamburger and the Giant Tiger Prawns in a coconut sauce with rice.
