The Best Route for September
The summer in Ibiza will still hang around for quite some time even if the calendar insists on welcoming the autumn next September 22nd. But forget about the calendar and keep on enjoying the island. You will still be able to bathe, see stunning sunsets and live magical lively evenings for quite a while. If you don’t believe us, follow our route for September, full of special spots to enjoy for a day during your holidays in Ibiza.
A SWEET AWAKENING
We know that our customers often what to laze about at our Hostal La Torre. It’s not surprising, our terrace is such a relaxing place! But today you need to get into the car and go and explore the most surprising spots in Ibiza. This is why we suggest you have delicious Greek yoghurt with granola, honey and fruit for breakfast, or scrambled eggs with avocado and toast. Start the day with an energy boost!
Punta Galera
Our first surprising stop of the day is not that far from Hostal La Torre Ibiza, as you could even walk to Punta Galera if you’d rather leave the car for a while and follow the track to Cala Salada that runs opposite the hotel terrace. This was once a quarry and the quarrying formed the terraces which have become a favourite spot on the western coast of Ibiza for people seeking a quiet place to bathe in crystal-clear waters.
valley of Sant Mateu d’Albarca
The next stop on the route is also surprising as it is a marvellous sample of Ibiza’s traditional rural landscape. We suggest you go there from Santa Agnès to admire the beautiful almond tree orchards and vineyards dotted with traditional houses and two charming churches built in pure Ibiza style. The Valley of Sant Mateu has barely changed since the old days and the Es Amunts mountains are still one of the least spoilt areas on the island. If you’re feeling quite peckish by now, try the famous potato omelette made at Can Cosmi in Santa Agnès.
dolmens at Cala LLentía
Near Cala Codolar, on the south-western coast of Ibiza, you will find one of the most surprising spots on Ibiza: the sculpture called Time and Space. Made up of thirteen basalt columns, this work of art was created by the Australian artist Andrew Rogers at the request of Gut Laliberté, founder of the Cirque du Soleil. Only a few meters away stands another sculpture that represents two doors facing each other and frames the outline of the Es Vedrà islet. We suggest you first bathe at the nearby Cala Codolar and then watch the sunset next to the dolmens.
DINNER
San Antonio used to have many summer villas that gave the village its special charm. There are only a few left nowadays. This is why you should end the day with a delicious dinner at Villa Mercedes, an old stately house that has been turned into a unique restaurant. A surprising spot to end this special route.
