The route of southern coves and beaches in Ibiza

Our boutique hotel is on the coast of San Antonio and is very close to some of the most beautiful coves in Ibiza, as we showed in our previous post on 5 beaches near Hostal La Torre. But these are not the only treasures you can explore during your stay with us. On this island, everything is near so it’s very easy to discover other beautiful spots on the coast in one day. On this occasion, we suggest you get into your rental car or onto your rental motorbike and head towards the southern beaches in Ibiza.

start of the southern beach route: es cavallet

We recommend you start this route at the furthest beach as the best time to go to Es Cavallet is during the morning, as there’s limited parking space. On this charming and unspoilt beach, you can take a pleasant stroll on the seashore, walk the path that is parallel to the salt flats or even walk to the Ses Portes tower with its splendid views over Formentera and the nearby beach of Ses Salines, which is our next stop.

the celebrity beach: Ses Salines

This has always been one of the favourite spots among famous people. There is no doubt that it’s one of the best known beaches on the island because of its crystal-clear waters and lively atmosphere. This is why you should add it to your route across the south of Ibiza.

the spa beach: Es Bol Nou

This cove isn’t very long, but it’s charming thanks to the contrast between the reddish colour of the cliffs that line the coast and the turquoise shades of the sea. It is precisely the clay that reddens these rocky walls that attracts fans of mud baths. If you’d like to invigorate your skin, get the clay by wetting the cliff wall with sea water.

the pebble bay: Cala Jondal

This beach on the southern coast of Ibiza is one of the most beautiful on the island thanks to its unique landscape. You won’t find much sand on the seashore, but you will find good restaurants and a lively atmosphere. If you’re planning to eat in the area, you’ll find paellas and fish dishes at Tropicana, Yemanjá and Es Savina. And if you love to look and be seen, then book a table at Blue Marlin. Other options to eat near Cala Jondal are the well-known restaurants of Es Torrent and Es Xarcu that are on small coves bearing the same name.

with a view of Es Vedrà: Cala d´Hort

The last stop on this route across the southern coast of Ibiza will provide you with one of the island’s emblematic pictures: the magical profile of the island of Es Vedrà. Thanks to its stunning views and its marked fishing atmosphere, Cala d’Hort has become one of the most visited beaches in Ibiza. On the seashore, there are two restaurants specialising in paellas –El Carmen and Cala d’Hort– and there is large free car park at the very top of the hill that leads down to the beach.

end of route: Hostal La Torre Ibiza

After visiting the beaches in the south of Ibiza, enjoy a breath-taking sunset from the terrace of Hostal La Torre. And for the final touch to this fantastic day out, have dinner at our restaurant. Can you think of anything better?
