Complex free: 5 nude beaches in Ibiza
If you can’t stand the restraints of swimwear, it gives you the hives or you simply want to know what it’s like to swim in the buff, try out the nude beaches in Ibiza. Although there are other places on the island, we have chosen the most popular ones among travellers who love to take their kit off. And you should know that one of them is very close to Hostal La Torre...
Is nudism allowed in Ibiza?
Often Spanish and foreign travellers mistakenly think that one can only practice nudism in certain places. According to the official tourism website Spain.info, nudism isn’t forbidden on Spanish beaches, so no beach is either nude or clothed. However, there are beaches that have been traditionally nude or clothed and that’s the criterion followed by the Ministry of Environment to rate a beach as one or the other.
Nevertheless, you should know that the town councils regulate the use of the beaches and, therefore, they may forbid nudism or authorise it in specific areas. In Ibiza, no beach has restrictions on this regard but fans of naturism prefer to go to the coves and beaches where naked bottoms don’t draw unwanted attention.

Es Cavallet
This was one of the first beaches in Spain to welcome stark naked swimmers because it is such a quiet beach. This long unspoilt beach lined with dunes and thicket was never as popular as the famous Ses Salines as it’s rockier and dead stems of seagrass tend to wash up on this shore, so nudists and gay persons soon adopted this beach (it is also the gay-friendly beach par excellence in Ibiza).
Aigües Blanques
Another beach that has been visited by nudists for years is this beautiful stretch of sand at the foot of the cliffs on the eastern side of Ibiza. It has become increasingly popular in the last years so swimwear has been gaining ground over naked bums. But don’t feel shy: remember that nudism is not forbidden on Ibiza’s beaches.
Es Racó d’en Xic
This cove is popularly called the Hidden Cove (Cala Escondida) and is part of a series of small coves that make up the Platges de Comte. This is one of the shores with the longest nudist history on the western coast of the island, but since the Cala Escondida beach bar opened, more and more clothed people come here too.
Punta Galera
This is without a shadow of a doubt one of the nude beaches in Ibiza that stand out for its uniqueness. The series of stone terraces that make up Punta Galera is on the western coast, very near Hostal La Torre. You’ll love the colour of its waters and the sunset at the end of the day. This unspoilt corner has no bars or restaurants so it’s a great idea to combine it with a delicious Mediterranean meal on the terrace of Hostal La Torre or at Chiringuito Cala Gracioneta, on the cove that goes by the same name.
Es Figueral
This beautiful beach on the eastern coast of Ibiza, close to the Aigües Blanques beach we mentioned earlier, also draws in nudists who tend to stay in the northern area of the beach. It has a pleasant typical beach restaurant: make sure you have a coffee or a cold beer in the shade cast by its trees.
