10 Viewpoints in Ibiza besides that don't look to Es Vedrà
There’s only three reasons for you to not yet know about the Es Vedrá viewpoint: you only recently decided to come to the island, you don’t use Instagram much, or you usually steer clear of the most popular sites. If you’re in the last group or you’ve already been on the cliffs of Cala d´Hort and you’d like to find another viewpoint, read this post to learn about other viewpoints in Ibiza and explore the island from other angles (probably quieter ones).
Viewpoints in Ibiza to add to your holiday on the island
There are plenty of spots to get a good panoramic view of Ibiza, at sunrise, sunset or even at night, because some are even better if they’re starlit. We will guide you from north to south, clockwise, from one viewpoint in Ibiza to another (skipping Cala d´Hort, of course).
Punta des Moscarter
The tallest lighthouse in the Balearic Islands, the Moscarter lighthouse, stands in Portinatx, at the end of a pleasant walk along the coastline or a bike ride through the woods. This is an excellent spot to gaze at the sea first thing in the morning. On clear days you can even make out the outline of Mallorca.
Punta Grossa
This lighthouse next to Cala Sant Vicent is far from the crowds and is an excellent spot to admire the sea and the northern coast of Ibiza, but you will also want it to feature in your pictures. Stop before the final stretch that leads to the lighthouse and you’ll get an amazing view that isn’t one of the usual ones on social media.
En Valls Tower
It’s really easy to get to this tower near the Sant Martí Channel, so remember this viewpoint when you plan to start your day (or end it) watching the sunrise. You can also go at any other time, because you’ll always get a good view of the coast and Tagomago island.
Puig de Missa
Whenever you visit this place, you’ll find peace and quiet. The church square of Santa Eulalia, the porch windows and the small viewpoints from the quaint cemetery offer excellent views of the hills and the village coast.
Cap Martinet
All this coastline is a wonderful viewpoint of the coast and the profile of the city of Ibiza. It’s great to watch the sunrise or simply hide away from the world at any time of the day. There are many special spots, so you just have to find yours.
Sant Bernat Bastion
In the evening, first thing in the morning, in the afternoon... Any time of the day is great to come to this viewpoint at the top of Dalt Vila, only a few metres from the cathedral. It overlooks Formentera, the island of Penjants (hanged men) and the beaches of Ses Figueretes, Playa d’en Bossa and even Es Cavallet.
Ses Portes Tower
You’ll get a different angle of the view from the Sant Bernat Bastion if you go to Ses Portes Tower, standing between the beaches of Ses Salines and Es Cavallet. You can see Formentera, the islets making up Ses Freus straight and, far away, the profile of Dalt Vila.
Es Cubells
The church porch and the viewpoint that rises next to the temple make up a fabulous balcony overlooking the cliffs of Es Cubells, one of the most beautiful stretches on Ibiza’s coast. The sunset makes the view even better. You won’t actually see the sun set, but the light is beautiful and great for photos.
Sa Talaia
The highest peak in Ibiza is no more than 475 metres high, but that’s more than enough to give you a good panoramic view of the island. What’s the best time to go? Any time of the day if it’s winter, because that’s when the air is cleanest and the horizon is clearer.
Sa Penya Esbarrada
This iconic spot is the namesake of an archaeological site (a 12th century Muslim country house). Here you can watch stunning sunsets in the summer and enjoy a clean view of the nearby cliffs and the islets of Ses Margalides in the winter.
bonus: the terrace at Hostal La Torre
Our list of other viewpoints in Ibiza besides Es Vedrá can’t leave out Cap Negret and Hostal La Torre’s terrace, where you can enjoy an amazing view of Conillera Island and the singular outline of cape Nono all year round. And let’s not forget the 365 sunsets we get every year (one more on leap years). Come and enjoy these fantastic views!
