What will Hostal La Torre sound like this summer?

Our boutique hotel in San Antonio is a magical place with its sea view and fabulous DJ sessions that bring soul to Ibiza’s sunsets in pure Balearic style. Today we’re chatting to Pablo del Campo, manager of Mamboland Agency and music manager of Hostal La Torre. He will be telling us what our terrace will sound like this season 2024.

Hostal La Torre 2024: the musical programme

This season, what can we expect to find at Hostal La Torre during the sunset sessions?: We’ll continue our “sunset” and “Balearic” mix that makes the sunset experience at Hostal La Torre so unique. I believe it’s what our guests and friends seek when they come here: they want us to play the soundtrack to their experience.

Is there anything new to highlight compared to previous seasons?: We’ve added a few new artists to our resident line-up, but the idea is basically the same. We have a marked identity that people fall in love with and it makes Hostal La Torre one of the most special places on the island, so we want to keep that soul.

What does each DJ contribute to Hostal La Torre’s musical character?: They each have their own identity, the way they express themselves through the sunset... and that’s essential for us because we want each day to be different. But despite their differences, they all match the sound and identity that makes Hostal La Torre stand out. I’m so happy with the family of artists we rely on.

What makes Hostal La Torre’s musical programme so special compared to other similar establishments?: I believe our artists have a special aura, they understand the concept, island, its history... As I said, it’s a unique place welcoming people from all over the world, so it’s essential that they recognize that diversity, and play with the rhythms and sounds, especially after sunset.

What’s the greatest difficulty you find when preparing the musical programme and calendar for La Torre?: Fortunately, the greatest difficulty is fitting in the fantastic artists we work with, as the family has grown so much. We used to have about 6 or 7 artists in rotation but now we’re working with 12 or 14. But I’m not complaining! That says a great deal about the musical quality of the artists living on the island.

Will there be any special sessions with guest DJs, like you've done before? Can you spill the beans?:  Lol! There will be, but I can’t yet tell you about dates or artists. But like every summer, there will be surprises...

Is your heart on a specific song for this summer?: Well, for Hostal La Torre, a classic, one that makes my hair stand on end, is The mystery of man, by Sarah Vaughan.
