12 beaches and coves in Ibiza for 2025: one per month
Ibiza is a great destination any time of the year. This is why we’re proposing one beach or cove a month, because you can enjoy them in the warm and colder seasons, as they’re so much more than a place to swim. If you’d like to explore Ibiza through this unique beach calendar, read on!
Ibiza: a beach or cove per month
Running, yoga, reading in the winter sun, a picnic, playing beach-tennis or volleyball, eating paella by the sea, a walk along the coast... Even if it’s not summer, there is lots to do on the coves and beaches in Ibiza. Loads of plans to add to the usual peak-season activities, like water activities, snorkelling and paddle surf.
6 coves and beaches in Ibiza for winter and spring
January: Ses Salines
At the height of winter, this famous beach in Ibiza is perfect for a walk along the beach and through the pine woods leading to Es Cavallet beach. The ideal plan to immerse in the peace and beauty of the Nature Reserve of Ses Salines. You will also be able to observe migratory birds on the nearby marshes and go for walks on the 4km trail that goes from the beach to Ses Portes tower and back.
February: Cala Jondal
It’s true that the famous restaurants and beach clubs won’t be open this time of the year, but all the more reason to visit it: you’ll get the chance to discover its natural beauty fully, with the relaxing music from the waves lapping the pebbles. The perfect beach in Ibiza for the winter months to have a picnic on a sunny day and then read.
March: Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta
Another fabulous spot for a winter picnic. We suggest you add this to an easy walk that links these two coves to San Antonio. This walk offers a spectacular view of the Med in a stimulating natural setting with amazing sights, like Punta Galera and the stone terraces of this old quarry. The walk goes by Hostal La Torre, so if you're staying with us, all you have to do is literally walk out of your room. In fact, if there isn’t a chilly breeze and you don’t mind the shock when you first go into the water, you can even go for a quick swim in Cala Saladeta.

April: Playa de Santa Eulària
Santa Eulària beach is a pleasant option in the early spring. This month, temperatures range between 14ºC and 20ºC, with sunny days to brighten your walks along the beach. The water might be a bit chilly to swim at this time, but give it a go by all means! Also, besides walking, sunbathing and reading, you can rent kayaks and paddle surf boards in April. After the beach, you’ll find many restaurants nearby and on the promenade. Then a bit further on, you can visit the church of Puig de Missa, which is a fantastic example of a fortified church atop a hill with a great view.
May: Cala Gració
This month, the temperature is mild enough to swim in the beautiful cove of San Antonio. It’s a good time to go snorkelling and watch underwater life in calm waters, as the conditions are usually perfect before the peak season. Take a picnic or eat at the restaurant on the beach (called Gració) or on the next cove (Cala Gracioneta), which you can walk to through some rocks..
June: Platges de Comte
This month, the water at Platges de Comte beach begins to warm up, which makes it perfect to swim and relax. During this month with longer days, you can wait for the famous sunsets having a drink or dinner at one of the four beach bars and restaurants on the beach: Cala Escondida, Ashram, Ses Roques and S’illa des Bosc. As for activities available, this set of coves encourages you to go snorkelling and walk up to the defensive tower of d’en Rovira following an easy track with beautiful views of the coast of San Antonio and the islets of s’Illa des Bosc and Sa Conillera..

6 beaches and coves in Ibiza for the summer and autumn
July. Playa d’en Bossa
At the height of the summer, Playa d’en Bossa turns into one of the busiest leisure hubs in Ibiza. With its buzzing vibe and daytime and night-time activities, it’s the ideal place to enjoy Ibiza’s summer. Its long beach, crystal-clear waters and closeness to the most popular beach clubs is something you can’t miss. Walk along the beach, try out water sports like parasailing or flyboarding, rent a jet ski and join the evening parties.
August: Cala Sant Vicent
This month is great to visit the most remote beaches in Ibiza. This partly built cove provides a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with its wide beach framed by green hills, crystal-clear waters and several restaurants, like The Boat House and Can Gat. If there aren’t any waves, we encourage you to go snorkelling or rent a pedalo to explore the area.
September. Cala Benirrás
In September, Cala Benirrás recovers some of its usual peace and quiet after the August frenzy. It’s famous for the drum-playing parties they used to have at dusk on Sundays. Nowadays, they no longer stick to a certain day, but you might get lucky when you visit. We suggest you rent a pedalo, put on your goggles or walk along the cliffs for spectacular views of the cove and Cap Bernat islet.

October. Cala d´Hort
In the autumn, Cala d’Hort turns into a quiet place, perfect for those who seek amazing views of Es Vedrà without the summer crowds. This small, sheltered cove is perfect for a relaxed day by the sea with lunch at one of its three traditional restaurants (El Carmen, Cala d´Hort and Es Boldadó) and watching the sunset.
November: Cala Bassa
This month, Cala Bassa is a peaceful, magical spot. The quiet beach, known for its golden sand and crystal-clear waters, is the perfect choice to connect with nature, have a picnic, practise yoga, read... Or if you like to walk, follow the coastal track that links Cala Bassa to Platges de Comte: you’ll get to admire stunning views with the mesmerising sound of the sea. You can also go snorkelling, as the water temperature will probably be a bit chilly but still pleasant to swim in.
December: Cala Llenya
In December, Cala turns into a haven of peace surrounded by pine woods and the perfect place to relax under the sun to the sound of the waves lapping the shore. This cove is in a unique natural setting. This beach is a great destination for a winter sunny day or as a stop on the walk that links Cala Llenya to Cala Nova and Cala Mastella. Also, if you’re visiting this beach on a Saturday, you can first stop at the flea market of Las Dalias, only a few miles away, and browse the local crafts and products with a festive, relaxed vibe.
