Adlib Fashion
The concept of “Moda Adlib” has a large tradition and an important weight in the industrial and economical level and as a touristic attraction in Ibiza.
The fashion Adlib originates from the latin expression “Ad Libitum”, which means “with freedom”. This phrase celebrates the free and relaxed spirit that characterizes the style of the inhabitants of the island.
The origin of Adlib fashion back to the early 70s with the arrival in the island of the hippy movement and of the Serbian princess Smilja Mihailovich, who coined the famous phrase “dress as you like, but with style”.
A style that is defined by the white of the fresh cotton tissues that, hand crafted , adorn with embroideries and laces. Hippies found inspiration in the traditional costumes of natives and they adapted them to the new trends, creating Adlib fashion.
This spirit, which embodies freedom trough new, fresh, comfortable and original designs, went around the world.
Over time, designs are renewed with more color, new shapes and textures, but the freshness and originality of the garments are kept intact. A timeless style for fashion always remains true to its roots.
One of the activities to promote Adlib is the organization of the Catwalk Adlib fashion, which has become one of the unmissable events in the fashion circuit. It will begin on Thursday the 9th of June and end on the 11th , the event will be realized in the “Recinto Ferial” of the FECOEF in Eivissa town.
